Dr. Oluwasegun Lawal

US-Based Management Consultant, Dr. Oluwasegun Lawal, Inducted as Fellow of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management
The Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM) has conferred its Fellowship on Dr. Oluwasegun Lawal, a United States-based Nigerian management consultant. The honour recognises his record in strategic consulting, organisational leadership and business transformation.
Dr. Lawal was formally inducted into the rank of Fellow on Saturday, 5th September 2026, at the Institute's 90th Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Programme and Membership/Fellowship Investiture, held at Novare Central Mall, Abuja. He took part in the programme virtually via Zoom from the United States. The President of the Institute, Dr. Gado Shehu, MNI, FBDFM, pronounced him a Fellow at the ceremony.
Speaking after his induction, Dr. Lawal said: "I feel deeply honoured to be recognised by this esteemed body of professionals. I promise to uphold the standards of the Institute and to fly its flag high, even while abroad."
Dr. Lawal holds a Doctor of Management degree in Organisational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, Arizona. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in General Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management, New York.
His Fellowship of IBDFM adds to his existing professional credentials. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, Nigeria (FIMC), a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), and a Certified Management Specialist (CMS) of the London Graduate School. He is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) and the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).
His career in the United States spans nearly two decades across marketing, project management and management consulting. Since 2017 he has served as Business Management Consultant with DOL Management Consulting in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. There he delivers consulting services to Fortune 100 companies, develops strategic recommendations from market analysis and client assessments, and leads cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
Before that, he spent four years as Project Coordinator with HELP USA, New York, where he handled strategic planning, risk management and stakeholder coordination. He previously served for five years as Assistant Project Manager with Asset Protection Incorporated, New York, and began his career as Marketing Coordinator with RNS Home Providers Inc., New York.
Beyond his consulting practice, Dr. Lawal has served for four years as a mentor to doctoral students at the Graduate School of the University of Phoenix, where the school's management commended his work. His areas of expertise include operations management, organisational development, digital transformation, business analysis and data analytics.
With his admission into the Fellowship of IBDFM, Dr. Lawal joins a select group of professionals expected to advance ethical business practice, sound financial management and mentorship across sectors. He also strengthens the Institute's reach among Nigerian professionals in the diaspora.
